All new, redesigned filament run-out sensor for the gMax 3D Printer is now available for immediate shipping!
The new sensor incorporates a double bearing design with an optical sensor in a CF PETG printed housing. The sensor is triggered by a pivoting swing arm so you can even use clear filaments. The result is a much smoother filament path that is much easier to insert filament and it works with all the filaments that print on the gMax printer. The new sensor can mount to the top of the gMax printer rail right next to the filament spool bracket.
The new design will also now light up when the sensor is triggered instead of when filament is inserted. The sensor is compatible with the gMax 1.5+, gMax 2 and gMax 2 PRO printers just make sure to choose the appropriate option from the menu.
You must verify which PCB you have for gMax 2 customers to get the correct wire. Use the diagram below to verify if you have a v.1 PCB or a v.2 PCB in your electronics case.
Up to two runout sensors can be used on gMax printers. The new runout sensor wire already includes two plugs and can be used with a single runout sensor or with two of them for dual extruders.
The new sensor is not compatible with the older gMax runout sensor wire.
